The hills are alive with our new winter lookbook
October 09, 2014
Our mid-season winter lookbook was set in the beautiful Mendip Hills, Somerset. City style meets nature; luxury leather, soft suede and mohair and vintage tweed combine with rugged rocks, a carpet of moss and aromatic heather.
Being outside, you could see the seasons on the move, with the changing leaves and the rose hip and sloe berry colours coming through in the hedges and shining in the soft autumn light.
Our lookbook photographer was Charlie Gates, a freelance fashion and portrait photographer who has worked with the likes of Vogue Italia and Rankin. He and Sebastian Edwards, our brand director, explored the hills looking for great backdrops to show off our new handcrafted boots and work with the coloured suedes and leather textures.
We created a simple hair and make up look which reflects the Seven Boot Lane aesthetic, and complemented our surroundings. The natural lips, and loose or braided hair was contrasted with dark smokey eyes to create impact. All of the looks were designed to work for day and night by make-up artist and stylist, Katherine Spreadbury, owner of Little Lab. Little Lab is an innovative make up brand which specialises in make up workshops using niche professional brands from New York and LA.
We went for beautiful textured knits like this one below from Mimi Noor, and vintage flared skirts like this Burberry style, sourced from Vintage to Vogue, The soft neutral tones complement our winter boot collection perfectly.
As the long, hot summer draws to a close, we celebrate all that is great about autumn and winter with our beautiful new collection.
