From Desk to Dancefloor
November 27, 2013
It's that time of year again when thoughts turn to the work Christmas party and what on earth we're going to wear. Whether this year's do is a sophisticated evening of cocktails and canapés or a trip to a local pub or restaurant, we've put together some simple styling tips and ideas to inspire. We've styled two of our most beautiful pairs of boots and one pair of smart shoes, to show you just how easily you can transform your look from desk to dance floor.
Everyone owns a little black dress; it's a safe and trusted item for moments of crisis when you've run out of time to get something new. Just by adding some accessories, you can transform it into the perfect party look. Below are three sleek and sophisticated interpretations of how to style Alice, Amelie and Alabama with something you may well already have in your wardrobe.
Our first look has more of a boho feel, with plenty of movement in the dress and long pendant style necklace which complements our Alice boots perfectly. If the androgynous look is more your style, outfit two is ideal, giving a hint of classic suiting and teamed with our studded brogues. Lace is a perennial favourite for winter, and kept subtle, adds a dose of grown up sophistication to your Christmas party look. Keep out the chill by adding black tights or if you're brave enough, bare your legs to balance out your look and break up the black.
Alternatively, why not team Alabama with this season's leather skirt. Go for a pencil shape and team with a simple top to keep the look sophisticated. The added sparkle on the neckline of this otherwise simple top from &Other Stories, takes the overall outfit into the Christmas Party realm.
The classic shape of this printed dress complements the simplicity of Alice perfectly. The colourful print adds interest and teamed with chunky gold jewellery makes this is a great Christmas party outfit.
If you're more of a trouser girl, these on trend plaid pants from Zara teamed with our Amelie shoes will give you a party look with an edge. Wear with a simple top and statement pendant for added Christmas sparkle.
